Zoey Wu

Not a lot of companies are truly global – being under the Haier umbrella but headquartered in New Zealand is unique and opens up opportunities not just here but abroad. Ours is a culture where people thrive.

Zoey has spent her whole career with Fisher & Paykel. Starting as an intern in 2007, she worked as an Electronics Engineer for six years before becoming Chief Engineer in 2014, Group Chief Engineer in 2018, then in November 2019 moved from Dunedin to Auckland as General Manager of our Cooking Product Line.

Zoey was embedded in the world of Product Development for almost 12 years before her move to Commercial. In every role, at every point of her career, she’s been blown away by the opportunity and mentorship offered, as well as the ‘family feel’ of working at F&P. Calling out Generous as her favourite of F&P’s values, it’s one she’s seen embodied time and time again – Zoey feels she’s been on a learning journey for as long as she’s been with F&P and credits the generosity of time from peers and mentors for empowering her to learn and progress as much as she has. Zoey was 27 when she became Chief Engineer, our youngest ever at the time, an achievement she’s especially proud of within a male-dominated industry.

Zoey is excited for the future at F&P. A keen traveller, she’s seen much of the world, from the Dead Sea to Mount Everest Base Camp, and loves that her work has impact beyond the waters of New Zealand. “Not a lot of companies are truly global – being under the Haier umbrella but headquartered in New Zealand is unique and opens up opportunities not just here but abroad. Ours is a culture where people thrive.”
