Your role

Are you passionate about your career and becoming a future leader? The MECCA Brands Graduate Program is an all-access pass to developing yourself both professionally and personally within their fast-growing business! They are looking for highly driven and innovative graduates who aren’t afraid to dive deep into their two-year accelerated program. This program is open to everyone, you don’t need a particular degree as they are looking for a range of qualifications, and whatever your academic background, you will find plenty of opportunities to drive change, innovate, and go places!

As part of their program, you will complete four rotations in different departments, each being approximately six months. The rotations will allow you to explore areas of the business you are passionate about and where you would ideally like to find an ongoing role at the end of the program. This is an opportunity to expose yourself to a variety of work and practical experience within their Support Centre and to launch your career as one of their future game changers!

Surrounded by Kanban project boards, next-gen tech training stations, MECCALAND memorabilia, and colorful meeting rooms – it’s safe to say that they’re not your typical corporate job. During the Graduate program, you could be…

  • Designing their next generation of stores
  • Developing new products
  • Working on new brand launches
  • Creating their next digital campaign
  • Developing their next modules of leadership training
  • Solving an inventory problem across a network of over 100 stores spread across Australia and New Zealand
  • Integrating and implementing new software throughout MECCA stores, the Support Centre, or their warehouse
  • Preparing a business case for a major investment
  • Conceiving their next eCommerce feature
  • Contributing to transformational projects to set them up for future growth

Training & development

The MECCA Brands Graduate Program is a 2-year program that will accelerate your career! Whatever your academic background, you will find opportunities within their Graduate program to drive change, experience multiple areas, innovate, and grow with MECCA!

The first week of their Graduate program is dedicated to formal learning and development, to equip you with the skills to excel at MECCA Brands right from the start. They also provide you with a wide range of continual support and training throughout the program, including:

  • Pairing you with a coach and buddy to mentor, guide, and support you
  • Workshops between rotations, with cross-functional Graduate team projects
  • Regular presentations by inspiring speakers from all around the world

Career progression

MECCA Brands prides itself on providing its team members with a learning journey that starts on their very first day; from world-class brand and experience training in person and online to game-changing skills training to help elevate their MECCA experience, and accelerate their careers. They empower their teams with the support and tools necessary for personal and professional growth, encourage time for reflection, and facilitate ongoing two-way feedback sessions to ensure continuous improvement.

Work life balance

In 2019, MECCA Brands was proudly recognized as Australia’s #4 Best Place to Work, placing them in the Top 5 for a sixth consecutive year. To be the only retailer on the list is an honor and a reflection of their incredible team. They believe in their people and what they are capable of, which is why their team members are rewarded right from the very beginning. Their team members enjoy some amazing benefits, including access to flexibility, personal well-being, and balance initiatives.

Culture & vibe

At MECCA Brands, they're committed to inclusion, diversity, and equality, and they want to help create a future that includes everyone.

So, how will they do this?

  • As part of their inclusion and diversity plan, they will continue to make improvements across five key areas – their team, their products, their content, their education, and their community.
  • They are working with independent inclusion and diversity experts so they can understand the best ways they can create meaningful change at MECCA. These experts include Dr. Emma Fulu, Founder of the Equality Institute, and Rona Glynn-McDonald, a proud Kaytetye woman and Founder of Common Ground.
