7.00 AM

I wake up before my alarm. I’d normally have to get up at this time, but my housemate tested positive for COVID and I’m in iso this week.

7.30 AM

I make a cup of tea and listen to a podcast while doing today’s wordle and worldle.

8.45 AM

I grab some breakfast and eat while checking my calendar for the day and sending some emails

9.15 AM

We have a project kick-off (a meeting to start the project) this afternoon, so I read some planning documents to get across the method. It’s a business and economics project (which I have no background in) so I take some extra time to understand to context.

10.30 AM

I have some extra time today, so I send through a message on our company-wide teams channel offering to lend a hand.  One of my co-workers is working on a super interesting proposal about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, so help out with some research.

12.30 AM

Lunchtime! If I was in the office, every day at 12.30 pm we do some trivia. It’s a great chance to catch up with colleagues and have a laugh.

1.00 PM

Back to work. I start writing a guide to interview some senior government department workers. They always have a lot of insight into what goes on behind the scenes.

2.30 PM

I join a meeting to kick off a project about a massive evaluation for a government department. We talk about how we’re going about it, any challenges we’re likely to face and get to know our team better. It’s exciting to be working with people who are experts in their fields and to meet interstate colleagues.

5.00 PM

I compile our notes from the meeting and shoot off my last emails for the day.
