What do our Graduate GIS Analysts do? 

 As a Graduate GIS Analyst based in our Wellington office, you will join a friendly and collaborative team and support our clients to become spatially enabled. We create applications and share data in ArcGIS Online such as Survey123, Dashboards and Experience builders apps. 

Day to day tasks may include: 

  • Assist in creating mapping exhibits/deliverables on assigned projects 
  • Utilising GIS platform and software programs to complete assigned tasks 
  • Assist in developing and creating GIS solutions to aide stakeholders, clients, and other users in understanding the relationships, patterns and trends of geospatial information 
  • Work with areas of Stantec's Enterprise Licence, e.g. within Portal and ArcGIS Online 

What you will bring 

We are looking for a fresh graduate or young GIS professional with less than two years industry experience who will be responsible for providing GIS services to external and/or internal clients in a shared services environment. 

You will apply your technical knowledge to determine client needs and propose optimal GIS solutions to meet them.  

Additional attributes that may help you succeed in the role: 

  • A recent graduate (or soon to graduate) in GIS, Geology, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand problems and develop creative solutions 
  • Competent in relevant technical fields, including use of software and computer systems 
  • A real interest in developing automated systems 

To be eligible to apply, you must: 

  • Be a recent graduate or due to complete your tertiary education in 2024 
  • Preferably hold a valid restricted or full Driving Licence   
  • Working Rights in New Zealand (Student Visa holder, convertible to post study open work visa, Permanent Resident OR Citizen)
