Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
There is not much of a promotion possibility in the team from what I have observed. I start as a grad then a junior, intermediate and then a senior. There is not many positions in the team where I can grow into, but its a pretty straightforward growth.

Seems long starting from PD engineer

Don't like other small companies, F&P have a clear promotion pathway. That you need to satisfied different career level pre-requirement at first. There are four evaluations to see your ability in each year.

I'm currently unaware of the career progression opportunities available to me. This is partly my fault as I'm content learning in my current position and haven't asked about the opportunities. There have been internal emails in regards to opportunities, however they aren't currently relevant to my role.

By proving your skill set to move up to the next level.

It is a little vague at this stage beyond the grad programme, however the grad programme progression looks great and at the end of it I feel like I would be able to progress my career in a number of ways (within the company or externally)

The company is very clear about all development being self-lead. We have been shown many frameworks detailing where our careers can take us which is super helpful! Heaps of pathways

There is a great career progression structure here that they make quite clear. To move up the ranks in my field, it takes experience, an increasing degree of skill, and a broader understanding of the different parts of what we do. Moving into executive positions hasn't been highlighted yet, but this is fine because I only just started.

Being a medium sized organisation with heritage in a relatively stable market means there is little possibility for expansion. I don't see any great progression any time soon. I believe what it takes to move up the ranks is a combination of skills and luck.

Our performance is reviewed every 3 months, and after one year there is a possibility to progress to a higher career level (e.g., developing to intermediate to advanced, etc.) or receive a pay rise. To progress to a higher career level, we must meet certain competencies that are set out by the company (same for each role).

There seems to be a lot of jumping around in the company to different teams and roles, it's encouraged and builds up people's knowledge and handiness to different situations. I have not yet heard of anyone being disgruntled about promotions etc. Moving up requires a couple years of experience, unless you can prove yourself well and consistently.

Not sure how FPA maps career progression in skills and responsibilities to promotions and roles, beyond a general sense. Pay structure and progression is also not clear (I don't think any inductions covered it?). Definitely satisfied with the opportunities to get involved in things and learn new skills, however.

A well laid out career plan was given to me in my first week.

Doesn't appear to be heaps of progression pathways. Don't have a great understanding yet of what it takes to move up, aside from time with the company and effort/ability.

Progression is clear, progression is directed towards competency attributes.

Career progression is relatively normal for a company.
