Job Satisfaction at Fisher & Paykel Appliances

When I am busy and get to do my job I do love it. I enjoy cooking and testing out food. But this isn't consistent everyday.

My role is working on solving any hardware issues (specifically on PCB) for the products in the company. My role consist of planning the timeline of the project, solving any PCB related issues , collaborating with people in different teams to solve issues as well as testing the final results of any changes done to the PCB. This role is both a on desk work as well as a hands on work.

I haven't been here very long so I'm still working through the initial induction work which can get a little repetitive. I'm sure this will change with time.

Attain trainings and do research project.

As a PD software engineer, I need to do some embedded programming and testing. Also make some hardware under instruction.

The day to day responsibilities are a healthy challenge, however there are definitely gaps where day to day work is vague. These periods are rare, but the company's culture makes me feel negatively in these periods.

I plan my testing for projects, undertake it and analyse my data. Also collaborate with other teams members projects to bounce ideas

Design and implementation of refrigerator packaging parts. Design and implementation of installation procedures

Learning on the job as a grad, I have had a good range of tasks assigned to me so that I can learn lots of different processes and see what type of work I enjoy.

Mixture of testing and bigger picture work. Testing can be a little tedious without other work to mix it up.

I support engineers by running various tests on products. EG end point sensing, app testing, dewrinkle testing

I write automated tests to catch known issues, review automated test results, report bugs, add features to the automated test framework, help maintain the automated test process, review code pull requests, undertake manual testing, and attend meetings about testing and general product development.

Warranty work and completing tests for another team.

Sometimes I am not given the work that the title of my role would not involve, but I understand this is a part of being introduced to the team and learning how the team works

My role is to evaluate the cooking performance of our new products. My day-to-day responsibilities include testing and evaluation (i.e., cooking), data analysis, writing/updating test procedures or presentations, and working in collaboration with my team and my project team.

I have been given an interesting range of projects and tasks. From getting first-hand experience with the products by learning to install them, conceptual design work on CAD, to tinkering away in the workshop to test a prototype. There is also a lot of collaboration with other people.

Collaboratively assigned work items for the current project(s). Work on the item, performing problem identification, testing, solving, and verification, while managing stakeholders and time.

Engaging and challenging tasks given.

R&D, part design/redesign, CAD work, eng drawings, problem solving, factory support.

Include lots of variation and engagement with different teams. A great balance of lab and desk work.
