Recruitment Process

Who we're looking for?

Free to be yourself, confident and approachable, you must be a great relationship builder who can inspire the people around you with your energy and ideas.

We are also looking for Grads / Interns who:

  • Majored in Accounting / Finance / Tax / Law - depending on the service line you are applying for
  • Are in their penultimate, final year of study or have graduated within the last 24 months
  • Have the right to work in New Zealand

Application Process:

  1. Self-Selection - check out our website, Instagram and LinkedIn pages, chat to our people at campus events to decide if Grant Thornton is the right fit for you.
  2. Apply Online - apply as soon as possible when applications open with your CV and transcript. We'd love to know why you want to work with us.
  3. Online Assessments - to allow us to learn more about how you operate and your abilities in verbal, numerical and logical reasoning. 
  4. Video Interview - if you are shortlisted to the next stage, you'll be invited to complete a short video interview to help us get to know you just that little bit extra
  5. Meet and Greet - we are looking forward to meeting you and you being able to learn more about us! This interview will be your chance to meet with your potential manager or team member that you will actually be working with.
  6. Offer - finally, if we are good match, we'll present you with a verbal offer and contract to welcome you into the GT whanau

Remuneration & Career Growth

Everyone at Grant Thornton enjoys our flexible working policies and gets to participate in our nine-day fortnight trial with no reduction in pay. Our grads receive a competitive salary based on local market rates and the cost of living and we provide our new graduates with a starting bonus. 

As you study towards your professional qualification, either CA, CPA or CFA, the firm will pay for your membership fees, module registration fees, provide paid study leave (and a paid leave day for your graduation!), as well as subject matter experts who are ready and available to answer your questions and provide workshops to help you cement your learning.
