Pros & Cons

  • 100% - the culture and the interactions I get to have with other people within the business. Frucor Suntory cares about the wellbeing of its employees, and consistently provides opportunities to develop, connect, and learn!
  • The culture and the people, there is always something exciting happening! Everybody is super supportive and there with the best intent, to make quality products for our consumers.
  • The best thing about working at Frucor Suntory is the focus on individual career development and the opportunities for learning. As Suntory is a global company, there is access to knowledge from all around the world.
  • The people and the culture. You really feel like you are growing for the better and paving the path for others to follow.
  • Inclusive work culture, great people. Challenging work but there is always support. Flexible work hours and ability to work from home.
  • The payrate could be more competitive against other companies in similar industries.
  • The office is in South Auckland and the pay isn't great...
  • Honestly, there aren't any bad things about working at Frucor Suntory, unless you don't like drinking energy drinks.
  • The graduate program could have been better thought out and better structured, and a more collaborative/consultative approach would have maximised the benefits gained out of being in a graduate program versus starting in a traditional junior role.
  • Not having a structured onboarding.

Corporate Social Responsibility
We have aspirational CSR targets that all our teams are encouraged to consider in their day-to-day decision making process. As a part of the Suntory group we also have the target to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Culture

Culture
Hierarchy is very loose, everybody has the power to have their say and make a real difference. We have super supportive leaders, and great growth opportunities they provide. The type of person my department attracts makes it a super social workplace, where no one takes themselves too seriously and the office is a really fun place to be. We socialise outside of work through sports etc, and this further strengthens teamwork in the workplace.

The program is a 2-year rotational program in which you have the opportunity to experience all of the functions within the supply chain (or relevant department) through projects and BAU. As a grad you hold a lot of influence on your rotations - for me this means providing support and working on projects that have major purpose/create direction for the functions.

Great colourful offices in Auckland with modern vibes with options to "hot desk". Parking is available on site and cannot go wrong with coffee machines, table tennis, and a fridge for complementary Frucor Suntory products while onsite! The typical dress code in our office is business casual.

Recruitment
The hiring process is a great eye opener on what Frucor Suntory is all about - it is not just an assessment process for our recruitment team, but it is also an opportunity for grads to assess Frucor as an employer. The recruitment process involves an online virtual interview, and the in- person discovery and assessment day where you will be invited to our offices to learn more about the company and the role. As part of the discovery day, candidates also complete an interview, and case study/group activity.

Work life is extremely flexible, working from home is encouraged if possible 2x a week. It is great to also be able to set my own schedule if I need to start/finish later than usual - as long as you can manage your hours and time appropriately, work flexibility is great!
